Josh Hartnet hangs out with Hunter S. Thompson

Why? Are they working on a project? From IMDb (read toward the bottom):
Hollywood star Josh Hartnett has called for the late Senator Paul Wellstone's anti-war policies to be supported at the politician's remembrance service. Wellstone, who represented Minnesota, died in a plane crash a fortnight ago, and the Pearl Harbor star told the congregation of the Democrat's remembrance service that support of his liberal beliefs would be a fitting tribute to his life. Hartnett, who was on his way back to Minneapolis to personally campaign for Paul Wellstone when he heard of his death, said, "I came here to support a man named Paul Wellstone. We can still support his policies. Just get out there and vote and lets make a difference." Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas author Hunter S. Thompson was with Hartnett when he heard the news, and says Wellstone's death deeply affected the 24 year old. Thompson says, "It utterly destroyed him because he was going back to Minneapolis to campaign for Paul. It will leave a nasty scar on him for the rest of his life."

Actually, the HST book "The Rum Diaries" is being made into a film with Depp and DelToro reprising their roles, and it also stars Hartnett.
