What bands have you discovered this year?
Since it's almost the end of the year, I thought I'd start a thread about bands you've discovered this year. They don't have to be new bands, just stuff you've started listening to this year. Here's my list:
Chevelle
Finch
Glassjaw
Thursday
The Used

Gamma Ray - Euro metal band fronted by a former member of Helloween. Lots of heavy riffing without coming off pompus or overbearing. Great stuff. Recently picked up pretty much all of their catalog in one fell swoop (thank you eBay!).

God, too many to even start. I'll give you the ones that I listen to most often.
Godspeed You Black Emperor!
A Silver Mt. Zion
Helms
Mum
Interpol
Those all standout in my mind the most, but like I said...way too many to even begin listing.

I've discovered a bunch but for the most part they're bands I've known for more then a year but just got into this year:
Arch Enemy
Meshuggah
Soilwork
Darkthrone
Burzum
Emperor
I went and sold all my old cd's (mostly rap and pop rock) and bought a bunch of metal cd's. No looking back for me

Hmmm.... interesting topic.. though it seems that the stuff I've discovered this year all gets radio airplay. Most of the stuff mentioned so far I have never heard of.
Anwyays, my list is
Coldplay
Theory of a deadman
greenwheel
Remy Zero
and some others I can't recall at the moment.

Ryan Adams - fricking awesome! I had been looking at the Springsteen newsgroup everyday for about the past year, and I kept seeing NUMEROUS posts about Ryan Adams, so I decided to download some songs, downloaded New York, New York, and Firecracker... and WHOA... went out and bought Gold the next day (in under a week I had the two other albums as well)

mostly metal acts, but some other styles, too:
Meshuggah
Symphony X
Lacuna Coil
Nightwish
In Flames
Nevermore
Iced Earth
Sentenced
Cradle of Filth
Opeth
Non Metal:
Wilco
Radiohead (why it took me so long, I'll never know)
the Beatles (I'd never given them a chance. what was I thinking?!)
a few obscure jazz trios whose names I can't currently recall (they're obscure, after all...)
