I was at a screening of "Frida" yesterday afternoon and the Dolby Digital audio was noticeably out of the synch with what was occuring on screen. For some reason I didn't get up and complain since it didn't seem to bother anyone else. My question though is why would this happen? I would have thought an audio problem like this would be more comon with DTS since a DTS-CD is running tandem with the film. Would it have been the print or a flaw in the sound/projector system?

On a side note, a couple of weeks ago, I saw the Fandango (annoying hippie jerk) advert get projected in reverse (normal time) - that was completely surreal.

There's a 'delay' adjustment for Dolby Digital that has to be set perfectly, this is to compensate for the reader being in different places on different setups (some are above the projector, some are near the bottom where the analog sound is read.)

Thanks, Alan Smithee, for the answer to my question after 44 views of this post. So, it sounds like for what you described they would have had to stopped the movie completely and restart from the beginning of the film.
