Candyman

I think this movie is very overlooked. I know this because i have been overlooking it for the past couple of years. Tonight i picked it up at my local hollywood video and i have got to say this has a very original story. I am a person who is a big fan of Halloween and friday the 13th this movie is right up there with them. If you have never seen this movie i highly reccomend it. If you have seen this what are your thoughts on this?

Candyman is definitely an underated horror flick.

I remember it scared the hell out of me when it first came out.

I didn't even mind the sequels.

Shortly before it was originally released I attended a screening of Candyman with Clive Barker in attendence. That dude scared me more than this movie ever could.

Definitely a winner - years ago, I lived just a few blocks from the housing project where this movie takes place, so it becomes especially creepy for me.

That movie scared me bad the first time I watched it at home, alone, and in the dark... You couldn't have PAID me to say his name 3 times in the mirror.

Candyman is one of my favourite Horror flicks ever...period... For me it just works perfectly and the character of Candyman is really fascinating... I even liked Farewell to the Flesh....not as good as the first as far as artistic merit or working as an overall movie, but Tony Todd just ****ing OWNS as Candyman, which makes the movie bearable... now, part 3...that just sucked balls...

MATT

i want to direct Candyman 4

it's unanimous! Candyman is a great horror film.
Probably the last good scary film.

I liked part 2, it isweak and doesn't hold a candle to part one, yes, but it has some nice moments.

The sequels are terrible! Stick with the original and forget the others even exist.

Yes, Candyman is a great movie. I remember the first time my good friend of mine introduced me to this movie. I swear to god I was almost crapped in my pants.

Spoiler:
especially the part when she wakes up in that pool of blood

I mean the musical score is just incredible and one of the best horrors scores, that I know of.

You can listen to the short previews on amazon for philip glass's work.

Just thinking about it still freaks me out.

I watched this in the middle of the day in a room with drawn curtains. It freaked me out! (especially since I lived with the whole "Bloody Mary" urban legend growing up)

It doesn't suck. I don't know how easily scared you are, but I suppose it's fairly scary. I saw this movie at pre-release screening with Clive Barker. Meeting him scared me a lot more than the movie ever could. Creepy dude.

for me it's "good and scary". But I guess it depends on what "scares" you.

When I first saw it in theatre, I wouldn't even look in my rear-view mirror on the drive home.

It is good.
It is scary.
It DOES NOT suck.

(I used to live a few blocks from the Cabrini Green complex where this takes place. That's scary all by itself.)
