Anyone hear anything about Cat In the Hat?
It is set to release for the Thanksgiving holiday next year.
Stars Mike Meyers and directed by Bo Welsch (MIB II, Wild Wild West)
Has anyone heard any updates? Pictures of Mike Meyers as the Cat? I have my doubts as to how this might turn out but with a decent budget (90mil) they seem to want to bank on the success of The Grinch.

Just to clarify, Bo Welch was the art director/production designer on those two movies... A damn good art director in my opinion. He's probably the guy that made Wild Wild West a watchable movie.
The only thing he ever directed, that I know of, was an episode or two of "The Tick" live action T.V. series.
"The Cat in the Hat" sounds like it would be interesting to watch. But then I'm reminded of Ron Howard's atrocious "The Grinch". It was the ONLY movie that I've ever walked out on in my entire life. I even gave "The Grinch" a second chance, and walked out again.

All I've really heard about it is that Myers refused to do the major make-up/prosthetics work that Jim Carrey did.
After the Grinch experience (Carrey compared it to torture), Myers only agreed to do the film if he had less "stuff" on him.

I was interested when Tim Allen was attached to this, but when I heard they were going with Mike Myers instead, my interest dropped exponentially and while it can't reach zero interest dropping exponentially, I can tell you I have about 1.0 x 10^-23 interest in this one.

They are filming in Pomona california. they converted the old antique part of downtown pomona into the city. it looks very surreal. I took some pictures and someone else posted some pictures (do a search for it in the other forum) and you will see some of the set design.

Yeah, I was the one that posted the pictures: Here is the site:

My grandma was down there on Tuesday and said that they were filming. She was supposed to go down there again today, so I should get an update when she gets home later.

It doesn't look like Mike had any problems with the make-up job, and the production design looks incredible yet again, however I really hated The Grinch, so I think I'll stay well clear of this one.

anyways: i guess the makeup works, but the set doesn't really look Seussian enough. It doesn't look like the Grinch or Seussland at Island of Adventure.
anyways its better than Rosie as the Cat
