Post Your Nov Pre-Ordered DVD Ship Dates Here
November Madness is here. This month, more must own titles are being released then ever before. With all the deals that everyone is getting into, it made me wonder if deals are going to be spoiled by late ship dates and also how soon before the release are these companies shipping out their orders. I figure that this month would be the best month to figure these things out with all the potential pre-orders that are out there. So, I am asking you to post when you get shipping confirmation for any pre-ordered DVD which is to be released in the month of November. I will be updating this post whenever I receive more information as provided by you, and at the end of the month, we should have a good idea on who put out the best deal and who ships there product the soonest. Thanks for everyone's help.

As much as I like the idea of this thread (and I do!), is there a danger of getting these online stores in trouble so that they are forced to stop doing this in the future? While I wouldn’t mind seeing George Lucas go after Best Buy for releasing Episode II early (if they do), I’d hate to see some of these other favored stores get in trouble. I would much rather keep this information to myself and continue to get titles early than to share information and run the risk of never getting an early title again, or possibly paying more on future orders because an online store was fined and raised future DVD prices to cover the cost of the fine.
I can even see DVD Talk getting in trouble for this thread, should the wrong person stumble on it. Maybe Geoff needs to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of a thread like this.
Maybe a store legend should be established and then we refer to these stores within the thread as “Store A” and “Store B.” Not a perfect solution, but it would require prying eyes to do a little digging to figure our system.
Thoughts?

to the new thread title
lumberjack, I definitely see your point there. But the etailers would only really get in trouble if they were seen shipping things over a week in advance (and that does happen, apparently). The bulk of early shipments still arrive around the same time--street date--which is the goal.
My take: if this thread will bother the studios, we should get rid of it. If not, no biggie. I guess Geoff would know.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm really trying to make this thread work. If this thread would be a threat to retailers (which I don't think it is, but you never know) I would gladly work something out using a legend to protect them. Keep those dates coming.

Got a notice from Best Buy that my Lord of the Rings (5-disc) set was backordered - and I ordered it almost 2 months ago! However, I also received an email an hour later stating that my order was in processing and would be shipped soon!
Hope it gets shipped soon, I can't wait to get those bookends

Interesting...
I got my Spider-Man disc today and on the package was a large sticker. It said: "Postmaster: For Delivery On, But Not Before November 1st."
If that would work, e-tailers should probably make it standard practice.

Needs to contact an admin about multiple accounts
I received the same thing from Amazon. The sticker is something new. I work for the post office, and this is the first time I have ever seen an Amazon box with the orange sticker with a date marked.
