I played the import DC version. It's substantially better than the first game, and it's a great RPG. There's less useless errand-running to be done and more adventuring to be had. The fight sequences are reminscent of VF and are excellent. It's definitely worth getting.

Played DC version. While I beat Shenmue 1 and enjoyed it for the most part, 2 just didn't do it for me. Several hours in I didn't care and its been collecting dust for half a year or more now.
Make sure this is your type of game first.
