I know this isnt set in stone, but still damn cool. Acording to imdb.com Mr.Campbell will be playing the role of The Lizard in The Amazing Spiderman.

i doubt it. that would screw up the continuity of things a bit.

Perfect casting though, IMHO.

how would it screw up continuity? i mean how many people would recognize him as the wrestling ring announcer? and all of the prior references in the first movie regarding the Lizard was edited down to "Dr. Connors fired me."

BTW, the was also a small reference to Eddie Brock (Venom) in the movie, but that was also edited down to "Eddie has been working on it" when Hoffman answered JJJ's question of why they didn't have a pic of Spidey.

It wouldn't screw up continuity at all considering campbell played a ring side anouncer. Many actors play double roles.

I would love to see bruce take on the role. I'll give my girlfriend a reason to watch it as she wasn't to impressed by the first.

Well, Spidey was in the ring before he ever met Connors, and he never really saw the announcer. Maybe Connors had a night job?

While Campbell would rock, I think Kiefer Sutherland would be a better Connors in terms of actual acting.

Tell that to the makers of the "Batman" movies... Harvey Dent, a white guy in the comics played by Billy D Williams in the first movie.

Two Face/Harvey Dent in the 3rd movie played by Tommy Lee Jones back to the white guy option...???

I for one would love to see Bruce hamming it up super villan style.

This would actually give me a reason to watch a Spiderman sequel. I hope it's true...

It's not true. I saw Campbell at a book store signing last night and the question came up. He has not been approached to play anything (yet).

Dark Horizons is also reporting it's highly bogus according to Bruce himself.

I asked Bruce about this today and he said "not to my knowledge". And then went on to tell me I should stay away from the internet.

Dr. Connors only had one arm. The reason he turned into the Lizard was because he was trying to grow back his missing arm (either a birth defect, or was amputated), and his research on reptiles led him to becoming the Lizard.

Just saw this over at SuperHeroHype.com:

Bruce talks

That doesn't say much, we know Sam would most likely put Bruce in as a cameo

Oh, there is this too:

Parker's new love

One more:

Lizard and Doc Ock!

Not that this really provides any proof either way... but the imdb lists Campbell as the Lizard on its page for the Amazing Spiderman.

They have been known to spread gross misinformation in the past, however.

If its not true, I'd be really disappointed. Campbell would be perfect and I wasn't really thrilled with the first one. It'd get me back in the theather for sure.

that would be another reason to watch, but frankly, i don't really see her as that role.

i would think bruce campbell would make a good carnage. he kinda looks like kletus cassidy, IMO
