Jim Morrison and the Doors

Just finished reading the biography 'No One Here Gets Out Alive'. Fascinating stuff. What does everyone think about The Doors? They seem to be a love'em or hate'em band.

Reccomendations on a live album? I have the complete studio recordings box set.

thanks,

BBP

Bright Midnight Records, a label formed by The Doors Music Company intended to make available from The Doors' archives almost thirty hours of mostly live, unreleased material as well as some rare studio-recorded gems.

They've got a sampler or two available in stores, and several multi-disc packages available only through the site. Apparantly, a new rarities disc is coming, including a studio version of the Celebration of the Lizard.

Get the Bright Midnight discs they have out right now, they are pretty good. Also, In Concert is their best non-Bright Midnight live disc. Unfortunately, the members are funding this label, and not Elektra, so in order to help drum up money for the releases they are re-releasing the Complete Studio Albums, this time in a longbox with the rarities disc Jason mentioned. Because they are spending time on this longbox, new Bright Midnight releases such as The Matrix '69 or Pittsburgh have been postponed indefintely.

Also, I believe all of the Bright Midnight releases are limited issues.
