New BMW Hire series
It looks like the first of the new shorts is to premiere at the end of this month at BMWFilms.com. I just saw a commercial with the Driver cruising around in a Z4. Does anyone know when the actual DVD will be coming out? Will it be after they all premiere like last time? I can't wait to get my hands on this DVD. This is probably one of the best free DVDs I ever had and I'm not really partial towards BMWs.

New BMW films coming!
So I sit down to watch some tv and I flip on over to MuchMusic, when, all of a sudden, a commercial comes on featuring either the BMW Z8 convertible. Instantly, my ears perk up and I get all excited (being an owner of a BMW and one hell of a fan), but something was different. It looked like a commercial for a movie, not a car.... The next shot is Clive Owen on a cell phone, then a bunch of interlaced shots of some insane stunts in what looks like San Francisco. I thought to myself, "Awesome, Clive Owen doing a full length James Bond-type movie with a BMW." Not so. Turns out, there are new BMW Films coming our way!!! This one was called hostage and is directed by none other than John Woo. I'm thinking that this one may be longer than the typical "Hire" length of 6-11 minutes, but i don't know. I think the release date on this one is October 24...hopefully they'll do the whole dealership DVD thing again....

They should staff up their customer service center this time for all the requests we make for the DVD, or ship more copies to the dealership so that we can pick up ourselves

Ridley and Tony Scott are producing this set. There will be three films. The first is directed by John Woo, the last by Tony Scott. I don't remember who is directing the 2nd one.

When I looked at the trailer (why oh why can't I download it?! ) I saw three titles... I'll take a 2nd look...
Hostage: Directed by John Woo, Starring Clive Owen, Maury Chaykin, Kathryn Morris
Ticker: Directed by Joe Carnahan, Starring Clive, Don Cheadle, F. Murray Abraham
Beat the Devil: Directed by Tony Scott, Starring Clive, Gary Oldman, James Brown
Those are the only three I see.

Has anyone figured out a way to get the Quicktime version playing without all that annoying extraneous crap? I've messed around with deleting tracks, but then I end up with no sound, even though I've supposedly left the soundtrack intact
Edit: Just watched it... it was okay but I didn't like it as much as any of the first season films. Why were the cops chasing Clive Owen anyway? I mean it made for some cool car stunts but didnt make a lot of sense.

You must've missed the scene where the COPS SAY "PURSUING POSSIBLE STOLEN VEHICLE".
(actually, it's pretty easy to miss )
Also, to get rid of the extraneous Quicktime interface stuff, you click the middle square in the top right corner of the screen (ie, the one corresponding to the expand window button in MS Windows) *after* you've started playing the video. It will black out all of the controls except that button. Seems a bit glitchy though.
