Went to see Aerosmith and STP, last night

Last night me and the girlfriend went to see Aerosmith. Some Boston newcomer called Must opened for STP, STP then opened for Aerosmith. Must was ok, your run-of-the-mill rock and roll.

STP ROCKED! I'd never seen them live, before. They played about six songs. Every one of their hits, more or less. Vaseline, Interstate Love Song, all the good stuff. They then took a request and, naturally, the requested song was Plush. The place went INSANE! THey were very, verygood.

We had lawn seats and right as STP took the stage, BAM, someone opened up the clouds. I'd never been in such a torrential downpoor. We could't even see the stage unless they turned the house lights off. But it was great. The STP singer yelled at all the people in the expensive seats for not standing up, saying, "This a mother f-in rock-an'-roll show, ain't it?!" THe lawn crowd proceeded to scream while the wieners in the expensive seats sheepishly stood up.

After STP left, the stage crew took their sweet time tearing down STPs stuff and setting up Aerosmith's. Thankfully, it stopped raining. STP left the stage around 8:15 and Aerosmith came on right at 9, welcomed by a very anxious and VERY wet crowd. Aerosmith was, for lack of abetter word, awesome. They played for two hours straight, with nary a break. They performed every one of their hits from the past 30 years (or so). Even did Living on the Edge, which has only been played a few times on this tour. I was extatic. About 2/3 the way through their set, it started to pour, again. Damn! I was just about dried out, too. Oh well.

Lots of people left when it first started raining, but there was still a good size crowd on the lawn. When the second round came, about half the reamining crowd left. Those who stayed had a blast, though. Aerosmith pulled all the stops and gave us a wonderful show. Sadly, they didn't come out to the lawn stage due to the weather. Rain and electricity don't mix well. The lawn, though, didnt' seem to mind. Picture woodstock, but with far fewer people, and you ahve our concert. Complete with the pot, people running and sliding in the mud, and hot girls in wet clothing.

I wish it hadn't rained, but it made for an experience I won't soon forget. It was perhaps the best $30 I'd ever spent.

And next Wednesday we go to Savvis to see Sir Paul McCartney. Tickets for that show cost just a bit more than Aerosmith... haha

Why would anyone ever leave a concert if it were to rain? I mean your gonna get wet walking to your car anyway, why not enjoy the show you paid top dollar for? Bunch of wussies. Glad you stayed and had a good time

Welp, it was unconvered, lawn seating, it was COLD rain, and they were only $30 tickets. So i can understand people leaving. Those left were die-hard fans, or younger (<25) people/teenagers without their parents. (There were quite a few with their parents and they all left when it rained. hehe)
