Anyone else think Buffy is going down the drain?
I am sorry to say, this used to be my favorite show, but since its moved to UPN(dont know if it matters at all) but the show started going down the toilet. I didn;t find the season premiere, that entertaining, last season wasn;t that good, definetly the worst season, anyone else agree with me? For the other hand though smallville Frickin ROCKED!

Oh god. I see it's time to start avoiding the Buffy threads around here again.
I enjoyed this episode a lot (as well as most episodes last season) and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the coming weeks.

I've thought Buffy has been going down the drain since season 3 ended.
Last year was the last straw. Maybe two episodes were good.
I'm not watching this year. My Buffy website's in my profile if anyone wants to hear more about my thoughts.

I thought it was a great setup for the (possibly final) season. They really can't help but be better than last year but hopefully they'll approach the quality of season 2 or 3.

This was one of the better "set-up" episodes of any series that I've seen. I'm thinking that this will be the best season since season 4 (which I liked a lot), maybe since season 3.
Last season had some pretty weak episodes, but I've got a feeling that this year is going to rock!

I won't be switching off. Compared to the rest of the crap out there a mediocre episode of Buffy is still better.
My only concern for this season is that there is not too much time setting up Dawn and her new 'outsider' clique to take over for Buffy. I am not a Dawn fan, and it would just not interest me.

Comparitively speaking, Buffy is still one of the better shows on TV. Even last season, which was lackluster for Buffy, was a notch above other programs.
IMO, Buffy and The Sopranos are what good TV is all about.

While I have sentimental attachment to the Faith era
, I still enjoy BtVS a lot, and find it easily one of the most entertaining shows on television.
All indications are that this will be the final season, and if the season premiere was any indicator it should be pretty good one...

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it was the BEST SEASON yet! Downbeat, a little lost, making poor choices -- it was the perfect "becoming an adult" season for one of these maturing teen angst shows.
Finally a season free from some cheap show-down with the "big bad."
But yeah, I typically avoid the "Buffy" threads on the television forum because they don't take dissension from the hive-mind group-think very well.

I liked the season premiere very much. I like the "new Sunnydale High" setting, liked the "Spike driven insane by getting his soul back" plot-line, like the "Buffy working at SDH" concept, and actually gasped out loud when Warren "morphed" into Glory. Oh, and Dawn? Maybe worth the prison time.

I thought last season, although not the best Buffy season, was still one of the best shows on TV. Most episodes were were quite good and several were excellent:
Normal Again (one of the 10 best ever IMO)
Tabula Rasa (funniest episode in a long time)
Bargaining (2 hr season premiere)
Gone
Dead Things
And everyone seems to forget that the best episode of Buffy ever was part of last season. "Once More With Feeling" was quite simply some of the best 68 mins of TV ever. (the original airing is still greenlighted on my 20hr TiVo) It alone makes Season 6 notable. Plus the episodes before and after related to the musical. The episode wouldn't be as good without them.
