New TV picture problems, help please!

I just purchased my new TV, an Akai 27" flat screen and I really have been pleased with it. I do have one problem with my picture quality, the lower the channel number is the worst the picture quality. Example channel 140 looks great but channel 1 is not that good. any suggestions, tips, help. Im running my antenna through my cable box. Is their something I can buy for improved pictured. Also my fine tuning didnt help that much.

Hmmm....this maybe a cablesystem problem. I have seen the same phenomena on my cablesystem...a service tech gave me a long explanation why the lower channels (on my system) are better than the higher channels.

The lower channels are prone to interference from other sources, even taxi radios. Very often 3 and 4 will have problems and higher channels will look fine.

You should check all your cable connections, make them as short as possible, don't use connectors to hook two short cables together to make a longer one, and use good shielded cable. Try hooking your antenna directly into the TV to see if your cable box is picking up this interference.
