hooking up these speakers
I bought this yamaha sound system 6 piece speaker set and they have a bunch of connections, but basically there are two for my computer ( a laptop), one output from the base module is for the 2 regular speakers and sub woofer, the other output is for the 3 surround sound speakers. My question is this. My laptop only has one input for speakers (the headphone input), so currently I'm only using 2 speakers and the subwoofer. I was wondering if there was some type of adapater that would allow me to use all five, or do I gotta do something more drastic...thanks...
Oh wait. I just found an adaptor that allows two headphones to plug into it and then it plugs into the headphone port for a laptop. But wouldn't that just give me stereo sound in 5 of my speakers instead of true surround sound? Someone suggested creative labs soundblaster extigy, but damn, that's expensive. Is there another way I can fix this? Or do I gotta return this damn thing.
