When considering your DVD collection, your thoughts mostly go towards...?
What do you think about mostly for your DVD collection?
Wishful Thinking - The releases you wish would happen, but no solid news towards the release. This also applies to rumored yet unconfirmed special edition re-releases.
Short-term Upcoming Releases - Confirmed DVD releases due out within the next six months.
Long-term Upcoming Releases - Titles due out more than six months away. Possibly for films that haven't been in theatres yet.
Catalog Titles - DVDs that have been released and are readily available, but you haven't gotten to obtaining them yet.
OOPs / Collectibles - Obtaining out of print titles or hard to obtain DVDs.
Your Current Collection - You're just happy thinking about what you already have.

Short-term Upcoming Releases - being I have only been collecting for around a year or so... sooooo while I of course have a huge list of film I want that are already out, I find myself picking up new ones being they are cheap that first week and I feel no hurry to get the others because I do not think they are going to go oop anytime soon.
Well if I buy a new disk or two on Tuesday I tend to hold off on getting a disk off my want list.
only time this is not really the case is at the local used dvd / cd store.. Sigh.. ok I just need to stay OUT of that place being if I see something there it is not like a normal store where you can just come back in a week or month and pick it.. I KNOW it is buy it now it will be gone.
plus they tend to have some oop stuff roll in there every now and then and I really have to get those if it a film I want. Heck last time I picked up Scarface for $12 bucks.. Alot better then ebay as far as price. Of course it us just luck of the draw if anything is there you want vs ebay and being able to search and find most anything.

That's me. My wishlist is more than what I own. Money [or lack thereof] is holding my collection down.

A combination between the titles coming out soon (especially November) and the titles that are already released that I don't have.

Since I just picked up a BUNCH of new releases, I guess I'd say my current collection. However, 2 weeks ago I definitely would have said short-term releases. GREAT to get so many excellent releases in such a short period of time...

I have been know to just sit in my media room and just absorb the beauty that is my collection. Sometimes I even put a disc in the machine.

Although I love my collection as is, I can't wait to add something like Roman Holiday or Sunset Boulevard to it as I feel it would make it even better. Also plenty of new theatrical releases like Attack of the Clones are awaiting their spots. So I guess I think short-term.

Short term: Esp. this coming Tuesday, I'm looking to spend $120 on DVD's all at once. I know that isn't much for some of you guys but for me its quite a bit. I also plan on nothing October and spending a bunch in November.

gotta be short term. cant wait for SWE2, Spidey, and re-release of True Romance. All good films that deserve a spot in my current collection.(the old version of TR had a spot, but I traded it in to EB for credit towards Spidey.)

I tend to think about two things the most when I think about my collection:
What I'm going to be buying soon
(Monster's Inc., The Young Ones - 9/17)
-and-
What I'm going to be watching soon
(last disc of The Sopranos, The Fog - Tonight and tomorrow)

I have no idea what the question or the options mean.
But I'll take a stab at it anyways.
When considering my dvd collection, my thoughts mostly go towards good movies.

My thoughts turn first to what I already have, but haven't watched yet.
Then they turn to what I've watched, but would like to see again.
Then they turn to what I've watched, but would like to sell or trade away.
Finally, they turn to what I'd like to get. That is unless there's a huge sale somewhere. Then all bets are off.

-my current collection. stuff I bought but haven't watched yet
-short term releases, stuff that has come out that I wish to purchase
-catalog titles, stuff I have been meaning to get but have either put off or haven't bought in general.
mostly boils down to that, but I do try to watch all the stuff I have before getting anything new. TRY. haha

I voted for "my current collection". I proud to own all 7 years of Buffy, obscure cult films, and classics films in the beauty of digital technology.
