Sorry guys, Sony has stopped making the Beta player.
Just heard this on NPR last night... Sony has just stopped making the Beta player. Yes, that Beta player, the one everybody thought had died by the mid 1980s (superior to VHS tapes, but poorly marketed in the early 80s).
There must have been a niche market that used them.
Per the article, Sony made ~ 2,000 or so Beta players last year.
