Character aka Karakter (1997) on DVD?
Is the movie Character available on DVD anywhere in the world? It's an amazing film (Won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film), and I'd love to trade in my old VHS copy.
Here's some info on the movie:
IMDB - http://us.imdb.com/Title?0119448
Roger Ebert's Reviw - http://www.suntimes.com/ebert/ebert_...04/041702.html

...well... I know that it is (non-anamorphic) letterbox 1.85:1, and according to the uninformative BOL site linked in my previous post it has DD 5.1 sound (Dutch, plus English dub) and subtitles (probably optional English, plus Dutch captions)... no guarantees!!!.. will try to dig up a review of the DVD somewhere...

Man, I was going to post this same question a few months ago, but I did my own burrowing, I didn't want to bother Hendrick ...And found that its existence is indeed real from the reviews I found at dvdbasen.

of course you will need a translation program---I prefer google's over alta vista's babelfish...

...well... there you are then...!...
...small detail, not mentioned in either of the two reviews linked above: when I saw the movie a couple of years ago, the DVD came in an AMARAY(-type) case... the BOL site mentions a "Jewel case" (sort of like a giant CD case - and just as easily broken...), and also the English 5.1 (AC-3) soundtrack... perhaps that is a re-release? albeit one that still is not anamorphic!...
