Asian cinema, are these titles good/bad?

Anyone seen these? Some comments would be nice.

Anna Magdalena
Inner Senses
Tiramisu
Jan Dara
The Peeping
The Stewardess
Bayside Shakedown
Kakashi
And I Hate You So

Also how are the HK versions of the following discs? Are there better versions available?

Running Out Of Time (some say it’s mono even though listed as 5.1)
City On Fire

I've reviewed a bunch of those...

Tiramisu
And I Hate You So
Bayside Shakedown
I couldn't find my comments on Anna Magdalena, but I rember it being pretty decent.
Here's what I originally wrote about Inner Senses:
"Inner Senses - this movie kicked ass. Very scary and creepy. Great pacing and good direction - for a hong kong movie anyway. HK horror movies tend to lack... well everything. This one had it all. The ending was a major let down for me because they went overboard with effects and just "showed too much" for their own good. Still, the rest of the movie except for the last 5 minutes deserves an 8/10. Overall, it gets a 7/10 and a from me for being hella scary in parts. I highly recommend to those who like horror."
I can't find my comments for The Stewardess, but I remember it being mediocre... it had some cool stuff and some lame stuff, but if you like Sam Lee - it's probably worth watching.

I thought Jan Dara was a porno so I never picked it up.
I never picked up The Peeping
I don't remember if I watched Kakishi or not.
I have Running Out of Time on Tai Seng DVD, so it's not the same as the HK version. I have City of Fire, and I remember the quality being decent. That's a title that should be up at asiandvdguide.com.

Oh - I knew which one it was, I just can't recall having seen it or not. We probably didn't. I think we just put it in for a few minutes and stopped it. St. John's Wort, Uzumaki, Inugami, and Tales of the Unusual are good.

Horror Hotline and Stewardess are cheesey HK horror flicks which mean that they are more silly than scary... HK horror has been seeing some changes recently and it looks like they are redefining their style. Horror Hotline I reviewed here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=188209 and as for the Stewardess... It's kinda got some creepy elements to it, but it's more of a horror comedy I think. It's kinda silly. Both have Sam Lee in them, so if you're a fan of his you might like em.

I had the HK version but then gave it to a friend when the TS version came out. I'm not sure it's still there but there is a very good comparison review of the two on http://pub5.ezboard.com/bhongkongdvds

Bottom line though both were decent (IMHO) one had better video (the HK version IIRC) and the HK audio was 5.1. However since a lot of the film is dialog driven w/ little use of surrounds the commentary on the TS version more than makes up for the fact it's mono (again IMHO).

BTW avoid ROOT2 like the plague
