Disney's The Rookie
Viewed this last night.....Good transfer. Audio and Video pretty decent. 5.1 DD or DD EX if you have the set up for it. This was a blind purchase which I figured I would like....was not disappointed and would recommend at least renting this if not purchasing it. Have not viewed the extras yet but will try to spend some time on these this evening. I believe there is a commentary and a couple of other items of interest. Not due out until 8/27

I'm definately buying this one, but all I want to know is this: in what AR is the film presented on DVD? I know it was filmed in 2.35:1 but Amazon says the DVD release is in 1.85:1

Loved this movie.
My local Target only had Full Screen versions. I hunted down a widescreen version at Wal-Mart and was glad I spent the extra time looking.
Well worth the purchase.

For the most part they keep to the story and did not add to many false key parts to the movie.
Anyone who has the Full Screen Version:
How did the FS handle the sceen where Jim 1st pitches to the catcher? The catcher is on the Left and Jim pitches from the right (beautiful sceen). Did the Full Screen use Pan/Scan or did Unmatte the negitive to keep both on screen at the same time?
