Crutchfield's Scratch & Dent Store?

Has anyone ever purchased equipment from Crutchfield's Scratch and Dent store?

They've got some good deals but I was wondering how "scratched" or "dented" your unit was? Any success or horror stories?

Thanks

i never knew they had a scratch and dent store. Back when american express let you price match on the blue card i got all my electronics from crutchfield b/c of the service and then price matched it. They have great customer service so I would personally take the risk and get something from their scratch and dent store, i am sure its just returned items. Crutchfield is good about returns if you dont like it.

I bought an HDTV receiver from there. The only thing wrong with it was the cardboard box was slightly bashed. The equipment was just fine.

Crutchfield usually does a good job of testing stuff before reselling it, and like it was said before if you every want to return it they are real easy to deal with, they provide the return postage and everything.

If you can't find a link to the "Scratch and Dent" store type "scratch" into the search field and it'll take you right to it.

to me the discounts arent big enough to buy a mystery dented item. For instance, I got a TV with a slight crack in the plastic shell and got $280 off (with a little bartering) at Best Buy. And I got to see exactly what I was buying AND test it out. Just my $.02
