How's the "Psycho" DVD (Hitchcock)?

Anyone have it? I'm pretty sure it has lots of special features correct? Could people comment on that along with the special features? Thanks in advance.

special features are great, very informative 90 min documerntary, the shower scene with or without music, a very funny trailer, and production notes. the non anamorphic transfer is very good, and the 2.0 mono sound is very effective at scaring the audience imo.

Non-anamorphic, but otherwise basically flawless. Great picture/sound quality, wonderful extras. A must-buy.

It is a little bit pricey, but you can get a used copy at www.spun.com (usually in perfect mint condition, in my experience) for $16.98. Or you can even get it free if you trade in some stuff there...

Are you kidding? This DVD is so poorly produced, wheres the 5.1 DTS and the Hitchcock Commentary?

The DVD is great and I don't think there will be a re-release soon so I recommend getting it (its still on my wish list).

Yup yup. Really needs an anamorphic transfer (along with Vertigo) but otherwise is a must own title.

As for the price... Well, if you're in the States I have four very simple words for ya... Columbia House enrollment title. Never ceases to amaze me really why so many DVD Talkers don't visit and/or heavily use the clubs forum... Best deal to be found anywhere, period.

Just a quick followup to the Columbia House comment. I received Psycho as part of my enrollment yesterday. Then order three more to complete my subscription last night. It ended up costing me an average of $8.80 per movie for 9 movies. I don't see how you can go wrong with that price.

Psycho, along with Vertigo, needs to be re-released in anamorphic. Here is a petition you can sign...

I agree that it's a GREAT DVD, a true must-own, and the ONLY way to get it (other than for Christmas) is via Columbia House enrollment...
