DELL Rebates: Do they work for you?

I bought three Dell computers - 2 in March, one in May.

I'm STILL waiting on my rebates on all 3 (not surprised on May).

The three rebates are for 250, 100, and 80 - a total of $430.

Anyone else at the 16+ week point on a Dell rebate?

And yes, I've babysat these to death - I have "check numbers", promises, and one is supposedly even sent out "on July 25"... but nothing yet.

rebatestatus.com is a pain to work with - they are always fairly friendly, but nothing ever really seems to happen.

Haven't done this my self but I've heard talk (i.e. read on forums) of people waiting up to 3 months for their rebates from Dell.

Actually, I'm reading a post right now about a lot of people not getting their rebates from April.

Check this link out, perhaps there is some info that will help you out: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/mess...threadid=83309

I got mine about 6-8 weeks after I bought my Dell, back in February or so.

I bought a computer from them last July and did not send in my rebate by the due date. I called customer service and was able to send the rebate in a few weeks after the cut-off date. Big

13 weeks and counting so far for my Dell rebate. That's a heck of a float they've got working. It wouldn't suprise me if we see a class action suit eventually. It's just a inconvience for the single buyer but think of the cash flow they generate by keeping these rebates 6 or 8 weeks after the posted timeline.

i purchased a laptop and a desktop both with rebates about 3 or 4 months ago. I have called, written , emailed about them and they say they dont have either. i sent them my receipts w/o making a copy (stupid me) so now im screwed. i tried calling to get a new one but they said it's too late anyways...wtf im so pissed off i just about gave up. I spent $5000 on those 2 computers and this is what I get. I have owned about 6 Dells now, but this may be my last if I do not get this resolved.

On a side note, my 6 "free months of free aol" ended up costing me the full $21.95/month or whatever. I called aol and they said my purchase orders are incorrect (BOTH of them) and tried to conact Dell, again no help. So finally I called BofA to dispute the charges and as soon as I said AOL she asked me if it was from a Dell promotion. tey get so many calls from Dell screwing people over that she knew right away....

After 22 weeks, I received one of my two Dell rebates.

Only took a ton of phone calls and complaining.

I know I wouldn't have received even that had I not put in probably literally hours talking to them.

I just received my Dell rebate check. Total time 14 weeks. So Dell made about $1.18 in interest on my check. Not bad if you mulitply that over a few thousand checks and then add in the non-redemption rate.
