Purple Storm HKL Question

I recently bought this title from bensons world and have a question about it. It states its a anamorphic 16:9 enhanced dvd but on my apex player it is showing up as fullscreen, any idea why?

thanks

P.S. I also noticed a high rate of pixalization/artifacting on this dvd as well as some other pal titles, is this due to the pal>ntsc conversion? If so would getting a Malata solve these problems?

All PAL anamorphic dvds will be stretched out on your Apex and other players like it such as Sampo and Daewoo. Yes, a Malata or some JVC's and the X-box(Not region free though) would fix the problem. I have the title and don't get any artifacting, so maybe that's from your player too.

You mean all PAL anamorphic DVDs will be stretched on the Apex and similar players.

Dude, it's obviously in my post. I think you had too many crazy pills at the wedding today.

I only have an X-Box and both Purple Storm and Drive look beautiful on my T.V. Although I did notice some weird frame skipping in Drive (barely noticable), which I think may be because PAL DVDs run at 25 fps instead of 24 fps. Or am I wrong?

BTW Drive is a great movie. Lots of fun.
