Aybody using TV as center channel speaker?
I've noticed that some bigscreen tv's have a center speaker input connection for use as the center channel in home theater.
Anyone using it mind sharing their opinion?
Particulary, on the Panny models.
Thanks in advance.

IMHO you do not want to do this. This speaker will no doubt sound inferior when compared to even modest audio speakers.
Since the center is the most important speaker in a home theater, this is not the place to skimp.

If you can, go out and get a nice center speaker. You'll notice an immediate difference.
I have a Polk CS245i (and got it pretty cheap from CircuitCity via a pricematch) now and the clarity and crispness of sound really makes a difference.

My toshiba 65HX81 has a center speaker connection, but I don't use it. Even watching regular TV, I don't use the TV's speakers. Everything goes through the receiver to my regular speakers.

That's what I figured, and since most people use external speakers with the HDTV's....Are there any tv's that are sold without speakers of any kind? Why should we pay for speakers that won'te ever be used?

Yes there are but not all people have home theaters. Not everything is worth running through good speakers IMHO, I don't listen to network TV through my speakers for example.

Really? I find that even network TV sounds remarkably better using my dedicated HT speakers. I just sounds sooooooo much clearer and crisper.
