at least its not as generic as The Legend

or "Twin Warriors" or "The Enforcer" or "The Protector"

But damn...that cover makes the movie look like some generic direct to video garbage.

BTW, how is "Hitman"?...i have been meaning to pick it up.

Is there a reason why BV doesn't release a single Jet Li title in Cantonese? Do they not have the language rights or would they rather waste money on creating an awful dub?

That's a shame...
I liked Hitman. It was nice to see Li in a different role. (the role felt a lot less serious to me)...

There might have been copyright issues involved with the title, or possibly they wanted to avoid comparison with previous American flops like The Hitman (Chuck Norris) or Diary of a Hitman (Forrest Whitaker).

I also dug Hitman quite a bit. It's a shame they ruin all these movies, if I recall the Fist of Legend disc I saw by them actually looked pretty nice..

skokefoe.

To be honest "Contract Killer" isnt terribly different than "Hitman"

While "Hitman" does sound much better than CK, it could be much much worse...it could have been named

"Dragon Assassin"

"Hired Assassin"

"Jet Li's The Contract Killer"

"Legend of the Contract Killer"

"Crouching Assassin, Hidden Killer"

Or any other various made up titles that some VP comes up with.

Crappy cut & dub with stereo sound and non-anamorphic presentation. Yuk.

I own the HKL version and while the movie is presented correctly on this disc, it still seems DTV. I like most Jet Li movies a lot but this one is definitely rental material IMO.

Am I the only one who found this film to be incredibly boring? I mean, there's worse films out there - but there's certainly much better with Jet Li.

Anyway, the title change is indeed very lame. I really don't see the point in these name changes - but obviously someone out there feels the titles need to be changed for J6P's interest to be piqued. Sigh.

Yeah, I said it was direct to video material, i.e. boring and not worht a purchase.

Well, I thought it was pretty good. I liked it better than some of his other films. I guess it wasn't his best.

Bad ones include:

Dr Wai
Kids from Shaolin
Last Hero in China (Maybe it was that Wong Jing influence)

I personally love Hitman.. so there :P

Dude - Dr Wai and Last Hero in China were awesome - I don't know what you were smoking, but that's blasphemy.

The smoking and blasphemy references were from a thread in Movie Talk that's about some nut and his crazy movie reviews on IMDB... anyway - I haven't even gotten around to watching Kids from Shaolin, but I love Dr. Wai and Last Hero.

WU TANG HIT
DRUNKEN KILLER
WU-TANG CONTRACT
CONTRACT MELTDOWN
LEGEND OF KILLER CONTRACT
