DDDHouse Vidoq

Has anyone bought this French thriller from DDDHouse and can give assessment of the tranfer quality?

Junk really. Marginal Full Screen presentation with a totally buggered subtitle track. Random lines are ruined with a ## sign or something to that effect popping instead of the proper words. I'd really recommend the French disc as it is a great package. If you don't want to outlay that much money, you may wish to look into the Canadian R1 release.

I'll agree that it's basically junky. It was cheap though and since the movie wasn't the coolest thing ever, I'm glad I didn't waste money on a more expensive DVD. Aside from being more or less fullscreen, the video quality is pretty decent and the subtitles are annoying in spots like that, but it's not the worst example of bad subtitles and you can follow the story. The sound is pretty decent if I remember correctly. It's been awhile. It's a cool movie worth picking up - but even though the HK DVD is crappy, the movie isn't good enough for me to re-purchase it. Take that for what it's worth.
