The wrong DVD was in the case, now what?

I had ordered a DVD and it had the wrong DVD in the case. Same production company, different title. The title I got was not a movie I want.

Weird.

I'm emailing the store, but I'm not sure if they'll believe me or if they can do anything. The DVD was wrapped, the problem wasn't with the seller. It was only an $8.99 DVD, so if I can't do anything I'm not out too much.

I'd be interested to see how the store handles it. They should give you another (be sure to open it in front of them) and then they'll deal with the distributor. Maybe they have already had a few returns.

Strange that it happened, though. Maybe someone at the pressing plant had a beef with the company and decided to pull a fast one before he left.

Emailing the store is a good first step. If they can't help you then email the studio. Manufacturing problems happen, so they will probably be reasonable. Offer to provide them with the original invoice and a copy of your request to the store if they want.
Unless they are a really small, fly-by-night operation they'd be foolish to not try to acommidate you.

I emailed the store (fivestardvd), though I assume they are closed on the weekends.

The DVD I ordered was "Ice Woman", I received that case with "The Watchers #2" inside. You won't find either of these on IMDB, they are "adult" titles.

The Watchers #2 is s voyeuristic movie, it mainly has dyed blondes with boob jobs, nothing that I am really interested in. At least it wasn't gay porn, I suppose. Assuming that the store won't take a return like this since they don't know if I am telling the truth or not, I'll just hawk it on ebay.

I've got nothing against porn, but I just love how this whole admission finally came rolling out!

Like I said, I'm just glad it wasn't a gay porn DVD inside.

Of course the production company wasn't a company like Disney or Miramax, it was Raw.

Has anybody else had any problems with Raw?

A few months ago, I ordered a couple of DVD from FiveStarDVD they sent me one the right title but the other one was'nt the one I wanted. I emailed them about this and got a message that they were sorry about the mishap and that they well send me the right title they also told me I did'nt need to send them back the wrong DVD that I could keep it, I thought that was pretty cool.

I bought a game at Best Buy for the PSOne, Tony Hawk. When I opened it, it had Tony hawk on the disc, but when you turned the power on, it was a fishing game. I had one heck of a time convincing them, and finally they took it and tried it out and gave me another copy.

Similar to this, in the early 90s a friend had a CD, I forget what was on the label of the CD itself, but the music was actually Disk two of Pink Floyd's the wall. They kept it, it was pretty cool.

Also around the same time I bought a cassette of Iron Maiden's "Live after Death". The whole cassette was backwards. I listened to part of it, it was really strange, especially Winston Churchill's speech at the beginning. I'm not sure if the store believed me, but they exchanged it for the same title (which is what I wanted).

Five Star DVD customer service is excellent. I got a defective disc from them once. I called and they immediately sent a new DVD and an empty box with the postage already on it to send the defective disc back in.

I don't see why they would give you any problems. I had this happen to me with Ghost World, with the Cutting Edge inside the case. I thought for sure the store would think I was full of it, but they didn't even ask me any questions, I told them what happened and got my new DVD right away.

"Raw" is actually "Vivid", which is a very reputable company and will make good on mistakes. Just contact Fivestar and it shouldn't be problem.
