Wild Zero on DVD?
Has anyone seen a copy of Wild Zero anywhere? I saw this flick a couple of years ago at the Seattle Film Festivle, and damn I love Gutar Wolf!
So, something subbed would be nice - but it doesnt matter what region.

It's out in Japan, region 2 release. You can find it here http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=KIBF-47 It'll probably be cheaper if you go through Amazon Japan

You might want to hold off on getting the Japanese release it's supposed to be not very good. There is a German release that will be coming this year I think, it should at least be anamorphic and have subs. Also Synapse Films have the rights for the US, but I have no idea when that is supposed to come out.

The Japan DVD has English subs too.
The transfer isn't the best.. somewaht grainy.
Either way, I personally though this movie was utter crap... total waste of my time... The guys that bought this DVD, that I borrowed off, first raved about how great the movie was after they watched it on the big screen. Then after they viewed it again on DVD, they didn't think so highly of it anymore... I guess the big screen makes things seem better...

I only saw it on DVD and I think it's among the most fun films I've ever seen. It's basically an example of how to properly make a cult classic but it's not a film that everyone is going to appreciate. I'd recommend waiting for the Synapse release since it'll be anamorphic, have excellent subtitles and extras (including the drinking game).

I read somewhere that the Synapse DVD should be out by the end of the year.
HorrorDVDs.com use to have the animated menus, but there not there anymore.

Well, having only seen it once it might have been the midnight movie atmosphere that made it so damn good. At the very least - I can always e-bay it later.
I went and asked Synapse what the skinny is - we'll see if I hear back from them. I'll keep you posted.

So I heard back from Synapse today - here's the word straight from their mouth:
Yep, that is true. We are working on WILD ZERO right now. I think, if all goes well, we should have it out by Christmas. Our website hasn't been updated with the news because we just moved our offices.
