Amadeus, Amelie or Amistad: you favorite?

Choose one. I like all three, but Amelie the most I think.

P.S. I'm running out of thread ideas!

I'd probably go with Amadeus. As much as I love Amelie, Amadeus has a sense of scope and grandeur that Amelie doesn't have. I'm talking about the director's cut here. I think the two are very close, though. Amistad was a joke. Worse than a joke.

Conflicted between Amadeus and Amelie, but Amistad is definately last ... I thought that film was basically tripe.

I haven't seen Amelie yet and I HATED Amistad, so I going w/ Amadeus. Besides Amadeus is one of my all time faves anyway.

2 - Amadeus - i saw it a long time ago
3 - Amistad - i found it pretentious
1 - Amelie - i was really excited about this movie. but after all the hype surrounding it, i guess i didn't manage my expectations properly, and thus was disapointed

Give us free... refund of this movie!

I don't think Amistad was that bad, I remember it being passable at the time -- but nowhere as good as, say, Glory (which handles a similar theme).

Amelie was a litte bit overhyped but still good, and I am waiting for a DC release of Amadeus so I can see it correctly and not sit my lazy ass up to flip the DVD.

Amelie
Amadeus
Amistad
All three are very good films. However, Amelie is the one that made the biggest impact on me, and I found it most personal as well.

I was actually thinking of this thread the other day, when I was looking through the "A" section of the Columbia House catalogue.

They don't have Amadeus though.

All 3 are very good films, and all in my collection, but I went with a 9/10 for Amelie and 8/10 for the other 2, so Amelie!

Amelie was enjoyable in just about every respect of the word and would get my vote, with the other two in a very close second. Amadeus had a slow pace throughout and didn't really go into depth as much as possible. All great films though.
