doves "the last broadcast"

anybody here like doves??

Kind of a semi-trippy band from Manchester, England who gets lumped in with Coldplay and Travis quite often.

they have a new album called the last broadcast and it's terrific. It has more up-tempo songs than their first record Lost Souls.

first single is There Goes The Fear

this disc has a bonus cd with 4 b-sides including a strange Warren Zevon cover.

I'm interested in hearing this. Really liked "Lost Souls".

I think the music is interesting, but the singer's voice doesnt' stand out or sound distinctive to me.

I really like it so far. I love the first album. It's one of those few albums that still hits the CD player at least once a week, even a year after I bought it, which is saying something.

I'll be seeing the Doves in exactly a week in Chicago, too. Hopefully the show will be good. I haven't seen them live yet.

I just picked up Lost Souls two weeks ago and really like it. I'll be going back to get The Last Broadcast shortly.

I agree with cdollaz, they seem to have talent but most of the tracks on both their cds don't particularly stand out

well... on the first album my two favourite songs are the "Cedar Room" and the beautiful "The Man That Told Everything", give it a second listen Phyre.

I kind of felt that way about the first album.....it sort of put me to sleep at times but I think the new one is much different.

"Words" is a good one.

I rather liked it as well. I was actually expecting the sophmore slump. 'Twas not the case.
