Bought World Series Baseball (xbox)
Well, after everyone saying how this was going to blow away Triple Play and All Star Baseball, I got pretty psyched up to purchase this bad boy. I played a couple of games with my brother in law and we both weren't impressed. I'm not an expert at reviews, but here's what i think after playing for about an hour.
The good:
Pitcher/Hitter interface
The 'cooperstown' team
The not so good:
Graphics (esp. crowd)
View options were limited
I'm going to give it another chance today and if i still don't like it, i'll return it. For anyone wanting to get it I'd try renting it first, unless you're dying to play a baseball game.
I just don't understand how there can be great sims of hockey and football, but for baseball it's almost impossible.

I picked up High Heat 2003 and just love it. The graphics are terrible...barely above PSOne graphics, but the gameplay is so damn nice. They did all of the little things right.
If you can get past the lack of good graphics and a franchise mode, I suggest it wholeheartedly.

I loved WSB2K2 on Dreamcast with the exception of the fielding bugs the computer had like the inability to handle bunts. If they have fixed that I will get it.

I'm guessing they fixed the bugs as EGM bashed the two WSB games on the DC, and even mentioned that they sucked in the WSB X-box review this month.
Off the top of my head, the only gripes were fielders sometimes taking to long to throw the ball and base runners being a little too fast.

I would consider High Heat Baseball instead. I can live with average graphics if the gameplay is great. Plus, High Heat doesn't have that stupid batting icon that almost every other baseball game has. I hate that stupid thing! I don't want to move a box around before I swing. I just wanna swing, baby!

I've never played a Dreamcast game. It's a shame the system didn't last.....

many more problems to this game than those two. One
major problem is that the AI baserunning is just terrible and
this just kills it for me.
I have doubled off players on first base from an infield pop-up
3x's in one game. Also, a long fly ball to the track and the man
on 3rd did not tag up. UGH. These are only a few of the many
problems I found (eg pitcher stamina is way too long, walks are
very hard to get, inuries are very far and few between)
It's a good game to play with others though.
As far as HH I love the PC version for "realistic" stats.
Just my two cents.

You guys, despite some of the problems this game has, it still is the best baseball game available now on any system.
Just my opinion.
It's just fun to play.
And THAT's what counts.
