Question about X-Box "original" controller

This may and probably does sound a bit anal, but this is bugging me.

I got an X-Box last night from Wal-Mart and noticed that the A button on the controller doesn't seem to press down as far as the B, X, and Y buttons. You can hear the tap sound made by those, but the A button is silent when you press it, which seems like it is mashed down farther, which would cause it to be a little more responsive than I'd like it to be. I was playing TP 2002 last night and the batter was swinging when I barely touched the A button. I didn't really have to press down on it.

Anyone else's controller's A button like this? I'll end up getting the "S" controller anyways.

If it is defective, I hope Wal-Mart lets me just bring the controller back instead of the whole system.

Thanks.

I don't know if they will make you return the whole thing but you definitely want to return it.

See if they will just let you grab a controller, take it out of the packaging, & return the defective one back to that packaging so they can return it.
