Okay, the debate has been raging for a long time, but the more I see of this "new" Zelda art direction, the more I hate it.

Grimfarrow, I thought the same as you, until I saw the game in motion. See link below.
The game is simply beautiful in motion. Check out the videos for yourself. Nintendo and Miyamoto really do know what they are doing!
