Well, I listen to "Closer" MUCH more. I think if possibly I'd been a fan the day these albums came out I might go with "Unknown" just because it was released first. But I really like "Closer" to a much greater degree. I also will second that I listen to "Substance" a lot as well... the punkish songs on that CD are outstanding.

Love them both, but I had to vote for Unknown Pleasures due to the album cover art. Is it really the graph of a female orgasm, or is that just urban legend?

Closer is a damn good album, I enjoy it a lot.
But why isn't their album "Substance" on there though. If "Substance" was on there, I would've voted for that in stead. That album was also very popular of theirs. I'm sure you're all familiar with the Nine Inch Nails remake of the Joy Division song "Dead Souls", well Joy Division originally wrote "Dead Souls" and you would find that song on the album "Substance". You would find that Nine Inch Nails version of that song "Dead Souls" on the movie soundtrack, "The Crow. For all you Joy Division fans in the board, I would highly suggest you to check out the album "Substance". "Substance" is a hard rocking album and it kicks total ass.
