What Music/Songs in OTHER LANGUAGES do you like ?
I quite like some french music, this girl lent me a cd of this french music artist, can't remember the name
I downloaded this Spanish version of Martika's Toy Soldiers, that was really cool!
and for a classic. a french version of Blondie's Sunday Girl

One of my favorite CDs is La Llorona by Lhasa. Lhasa is either spanish or mexican (I really can't remember which) but she was in Canada a lot in the late 90s. I can't understand a word she's singing (she's singing in spanish and the CD liner notes are all in french--no help to me), but she has a very romantically expressive voice. It probably also helps that I can't understand a word she is singing :> I think last time I looked her up online, that was the only album she ever released and she has quit the music business to join the circus (really).

My wife is hispanic and has turned me on to some great music by Gustavo Cerati (and Soda Stereo). We are going to see Kinky in concert next week. This band just released an album that is very cool (a mix of electronica and latin rhythms...smart music).

Bjorks Icelandic stuff is pretty keen. I also like the German luftballoons a lot more than the English version. A few of the bands I like have a couple german songs as well but they aren't exclusively singing in it so doubt they count.

Any time Bjork sings something in her native Icelandic is cool by me, but especially that jazz album she released, "Gling-Glo". My second fav Bjork album, actually.
And I like Black Francis whenever he's got that pidgin Spanish goin' on.

I love traditional Irish music, so I hear a lot of Gaelic. I love hearing French spoken and sung as well. I turn into Gomez Addams. Another vote for German too.
