Center channel audio drops, need help please

If I'm watching a film at night I try to keep the volume down. However, when I do this the center channel sometimes cuts out and the only way to bring it back is to turn it up higher then bring it back down so it isn't too loud. Then it happens again, ugh. What's going on here?

Tough to say.

Could be a cable problem, could be a problem with the speaker/drivers. My feeling is that it is a problem with the speaker.
