Has anyone ordered from GrooveMovies.com?
I noticed that this website has started popping up with some great prices on DVDpricesearch.com, but I can't seem to find out much information about them. Their website is lackluster (no cover scans, few specs, etc.), but some of their prices are hard to beat (i.e., the Sinbad 3-DVD pack for $53.99).
Has anyone ordered from them before, and, if so, are they legitimate? Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, I hope you typed that domain name incorrectly, because according to my search, that domain hasn't even been registered, let alone have a website at it.

Like the others, I'd be interested in hearing how people's orders work out.

Order canceled
I put in an order with them last Monday and received a confirmation email that day or the next. As of Friday I hadn't received notice that the order shipped so I sent out a email asking what was up. I got a reply late Saturday night saying that the item wasn't in stock and that it was not available.
It bothers me not only that their system allows you to order items that are no longer available, but there is no way to tell if an item is in stock, on backorder, or unavailable. If I didn't send an email to customer service, my order would probably be forever in limbo. If they aren't going to put that information on the website, the confirmation email should at least show availability information.
I am undecided on whether I will try to order from them again.

UPDATE--
I received this message in an email to explain why my order hadn't shipped out yet:
Due to the tremendous volume of orders we have received over the past week, we were unable to make our 72 hour turnaround time on shipping out your order placed on 04/01/02. We take this kind of delay and inconvenience for our customers seriously and want you to know we have upgraded your shipping from STANDARD to PRIORITY status at no extra charge.
Anytime GroovieMovies.com is unable to meet the expectations of our customers it is taken very seriously. If for any reason we are unable to meet turnaround times in the future you can expect the same upgrade as our way of saying we’re sorry for your inconvenience. GroovieMovies.com is NOT in the habit of delaying shipments, this should be considered unusual.
Your order will be shipping out shortly provided that titles continue to be available and in-stock. Notification of shipping status will be available to you in the next few days.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this please let us know and again, thank you for your understanding, your business and your interest in GroovieMovies.com
I'm still waiting for a shipping notice....

I put in 3 orders withi them:
1) Buffy season 2 for 0.00 (total w/shipping - .99)
2) Simpsons season 2 from 0.99 (total w/shipping .99)
3) a $400 order with them for a lot of OOP Simitar movies and a couple of cheap Delta titles.
Well after about a week, they email with their standard apology (quoted above) and asking for my confirmation for Buffy and Simpsons. Also (surprise!!), none of the OOP Simitars were available --- even though my orders were 19, 20 and 21. Ok -- no problem. I'm not too mad about Buffy and Simpsons. But I should have received some the Godzillas I orders. My order # was pretty damn low!! They don't bother to explain WHY I did not receive the DVD's. I tell them to cancel all 3 orders hours after I receive the emai.
Fast forward to today. I recieve an email saying the Simpsons and Buffy have shipped (wait - I thought these came out in July and June). And only one of my cheap titles has shipped. The other is on B/O. If I am displeased, I can send them all back. I wonder what the hell they sent since Buffy and Simpsons are not to be released for a while? And why the hell didn't they wait for my confirmation email?
They seem pretty disorganized. This will really be the test of whether I buy from them again. I don't fault them for canceling my Buffy or Simpsons orders. I am a little more irritated I did not receive the Godzillas (at least 1 of them). My biggest problem with them so far has been that they sent an email advising me of the problem and asking for my reply and then send the damn items anyway without my consent. They seem a little too apologetic too. They keep saying how sorry they are and how they want to make it right and then just charge my CC for an amount I did not agree to and send the items. I keep thinking how it was when DDD came on board. They had their share of problems but were always quick to make sure the customer did not pay for their mistakes. Hopefully this place will do the same.

UPDATE: well, I still haven't gotten a shipping notice from them but I received both DVDs that I ordered today and I noticed that the shipping was upgraded. Guess they were swamped with orders but I did get mine within a week or so. Not too bad for the 1st time order, I might give them another chance.

UPDATE: seems like it has been a system glitch so far that has caused these problems. Just got an email saying my Delta titles will be free and my other orders will not ship. If this is really true, their customer service may rival DDD. We'll see.

My experience has not been very good so far. I placed an order for 4 items on the 6th. I received a confirmation email the same day and I have not heard from them since. I don't know if all or none of the items are in stock, if anything has or will ship and there is no information about the status of orders on their web site.
Given some of the earlier posts I suspect that they don't carry inventory for all ( or maybe any ) of the items they list for sale on their site. They may just order from distributers when they receive an order.
The titles I ordered were not hot on my want list so waiting a little longer is not a problem, but I don't think I would place another order with them without some changes to their systems.
Mike
