What do you think of this 47" Panny deal?
Mods, I was not sure if this post should go in here or in Hot Deals.
I went into town (Nashville) to look at the Panny 47wx49 in person. I went to Best Buy and played around with it for a bit, but I got tired of their playback loop. I decided to go to Electronic Express to see what they had playing on it. They had a 1080i DSS channel playing on it (looked pretty good!). Anyway, here's the deal they have this week (thru 3/23/03):
$1499 for the set
$70 delivery
$299 3 yr parts & labor in home warranty
or
$499 5 yr parts & labor in home warranty
He also said (I would get this in writing first) that if you don't use the warranty, you can get a 50% refund of the warranty price when it expires.
I know this is a good price for the set, but how about the delivery and warranty? Is a warranty always a good idea for a RPTV? Which one, 3 yr or 5 yr? Also, there are other retailers to price match to (Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears, and HH Greg) if there is a reason to do that.

If you are going to get the warranty go for the 3 year since they don't give you a price break on the 5 year (both are $100/year). In 3 years RPTV's will have improved a lot and you could probably replace it for a relavity inexpensive amount.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I got mine from BestBuy a few months ago for like 1700 something, with the 3 year warranty and delivery thrown in for free.
I agree, say to seal the deal you need free delivery, I"m sure they will thrown it in, and def worth a shot.
