Do You Like the STEVE PERRY Journey?
I absolutely love Journey (with Steve Perry). I have recently gone back to their Greatest Hits album and cannot find a bad song on it...(hence greatest hits, i guess)
But their music is awesome, lyrics awesome, and Steve Perry....God....I can't sum in words how good this guy was/is!
Do you have a favorite song from the band? Mine being a tie:
Wheel in the Sky and Faithfully are my favorites but the other set of songs in the GH album are up there.
-----------------------------------------------
Greatest Hits Tracks:
1. Only the Young
2. Don't Stop Feelin'
3. Wheel in the Sky
4. Faithfully
5. I'll Be Alright Without You
6. Any Way you want it
7. Ask the Lonely
8. Who's Crying Now
9. Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)
10. Lights
11. Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'
12. Open Arms
13. Girl Can't Help It
14. Send Her My Love
15. Be Good To Yourself

I listened to Journey as a kid. But that was before I realized the radio stations were ignoring much better music. I owned most of their albums and gave them away in the late 80's. Recently, I downloaded a few of their songs just for nostalgia sake. I got about 10 seconds into each song and promptly deleted them.
So, no, I don't like Steve Perry (and even less so after watching their story on VH-1)

The new lineup is a joke. For some real laughs, head on over to the message boards at the bands official website. If you happen to mention Steve Perry, most of the fanboys (and girls) will attack with venom because they resent the fact that the band cannot sell any CDs with the current lineup. For some reason, they think that Sony did nothing to push the album and that this (rather than the fact that the album is a steaming pile of excrement) is why the new CD is selling like maggot infested hotcakes. Dont get me wrong, back in the eighties I was a huge Journey fan who understood that the music wasnt pushing any artistic envelopes, but could appreciate a good old mainstream pop/rock album. To be the devils advocate though, lets say that if you feel that Journey is one of the worst acts in music ever, the current lineup only helps to rationalize your opinion.

Count me in as a fan of the Steve Perry-led Journey. But I don't listen to much of their music anymore, but at the time it was more than acceptable as rock music with a few ballads tossed in from time to time.

Steve Perry-era Journey was all about the ringing harmonics of Perry's massively proportioned schnozz.
Without that nose (and that stringy mullet), what is Journey but a pale, pale shadow of its former self?

I am a big fan of the Steve Perry era Journey. There is no Journey without him. It just doesn't sound right. As for my favorite song, it is a tie between:
Faithfully
&
Open Arms
Faithfully
&
Open Arms
