Six Feet Under 03/03 (spoilers)

Great season premiere episode!

I always knew that 2nd exstacy pill would come back to haunt someone.

I wonder what's going on with Brenda. I think she may be headed the route that her brother Billy took w/ a whole mental breakdown. That would be pretty cool to see.

I like that Frederico is back. Although, he may be in some $hit since the money from this funeral apparently is not coming in.

I thought it was hilarious how the whole "family" dinner thing shaped up.

Glad as hell this show is back!

Great episode....as always.

What the ***** was up with Nate's trip with Life and Death?
My jaw was on the floor.

This show is excellent and I can't wait for more.

Also loved the dinner sequence...

The mother is funny...having "a sexual relationship" with the "flower guy."

BTW,
Did you guys know that Rachel Griffiths was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar back in 1999, for 1998's Hilary and Jackie. I never knew she was Oscar nominated.

I was almost in tears during the dinner episode from laughing so hard.

It seemed like this episode was much more focused on comedy, which was fine by me since it worked so well.

Great season premiere...

Knew that second ecstacy pill would come into play somehow. Great that it did as humorous as it did. The most disturbing part of the whole show was that the dead actresses' friends actually snorted her ashes.

Great episode... and the thing I love about this show is nearly all the episodes are this good!

I wonder when Gabe's armed robbery is gonna come back to haunt him (and Claire probably)... I can't imagine they'd leave that thread hanging for too long, especially since they made it a point to show that he was captured on the security video.

I thought the whole Life/Death part was great... very trippy... and the dinner scene was probably the best part of the episode.

Bets on how long it is before David finds the guy for him? I still get the vibe that he's not comfortable with the gay thing.

Great episode. Glad this series is back. I love the way they can sometimes fool me with the dream sequences. They only got me twice this time. Next week looks to be very good as well.

Hmmmm...I'm not too thrilled on this new episode. Ruth is relegated to a gag role, and the whole trippy dream that Nate has just doesn't work for me (Sorry, but there's been enough The Seventh Seal homages, thanks). But I really do like the imaginary scene of Nate at the beach. And although the episode itself is OK, I do see how it is the groundwork for some pretty powerful drama in the future. The teaser for the next episode definitely suggests some intense conflicts coming soon.

I thought the dinner scene was good but I was cracking up when Nate imagined jumping across his doctor's desk and strangling him..."Die you motherf**ker!!!"

Snorting that actresses ashes was disgusting.

I would like Billy to come back. He always made the scenes he was in so intense, you never knew what was going to happen next with him.

I agree. This wasn't a strong episode in my opinion. The X tablet had been done before as well as the funeral being for an actress...these are essentially recycled ideas and both were used to better effect last season.

Gee, ya THINK?!?!? That is exactly what the red-hatted fireman caught onto during coffee. David is out but still very repressed. It is going to take him quite a while to undo all the emotional "closetting" he's subconsciously forced on himself for so many years. You don't just come out to your family and then have a huge cloud lifted which allows you to immediately be comfortable with yourself, who you are and how you personally interact with everyone you come in contact with.

This is important to note because David's phone call to Keith reeks of insecurity. Keith was the only (sane) person David was completely open with on several levels. Now that Keith is in another relationship, David is realizing that he will have to forge some new confidances like he had with Keith - START ALL OVER. David opening up probably took some serious prying on Keith's part. It is unlikely that David will finds someone as willing as Kieth was to do the same. I'd expect it to be a while before David gets through his baby steps towards resolving this issue. At least he's starting to TAKE them!

So to answer your question on bets - I would not expect David to pursue any other dating scenarios until that Cipro cleans up his gonorrhea. Besides I'm sure his catching it in the first place will be probably enough to freak him into chastity for a while.

Everyone is hiding SOMETHING!

Ah yes - but her original death sequence not to mention Death and Life having sex in Nate's dream were totally candy-coated pleasures to witness.

Nice episode overall - especially considering that the final episode of season one kind of loosely tied everything up in case the show was not renewed. This episode is slowly reseeding a whole bunch of "places to go" from there. I'm glad they're back!

Was the girl who dies the same actress that played Elizabeth (Ross' student and girlfriend) on Friends? It sure looked (with blond hair) and sounded like her...

Did anyone notice that the cabinet in the basement where Claire showed Gabe the tube of "real-looking skin" was OPEN when Claire went to find Gabe down there during the funeral? He is such a sh!thead... I wish Claire weren't so attached to him so I could completely relish the hard fall he is inevitably headed for...

I think the show going real strong right now. HBO is hitting a lot of home runs lately.

The only mistake of the show was killing off the father in the pilot. He is way too good of a character actor not to be involved with the show in a bigger role.

Just my opinion though.

Nice to see Rachel Griffiths win the Golden Globe.

I was curious what directionn SFU was going to take in its second season.
Seems to have stayed on course with pretty much everyone (sans Nate) staying in character. The comdedy slant to this episode was refreshing,X scene while it has been done before it has not been done this well, IMO.
Brenda had some strong moments the massage scene was fairly realistic and wonderful to see.
Seems like mom took a back seat but this was really Nates episode-she had more than her share of moments in Season 1.
The show is still finding ways to be groundbreaking, artful and entertaining. Holding my breath for the next episode,
the embaling fluid set up.
