If they would only replace Blink with Weezer, it'd be a great bill.
This would also result in less junior high school kids from going.
God, I hate Blink so much.... so much.

I'm not accusing anyone here of this, but I noticed from talking to various people that the backlash against Blink is mostly (IMO) unwarranted.
Example:
I was at a Goldfinger/No Motiv/Good Charlotte show recently. And, I heard these girls behind me talking crap about Blink 182... talking about how they're not punk.. blah blah blah..
Ok.. wait.. YOU'RE AT A NO MOTIV/GOOD CHARLOTTE show.. shut up!
OR...
Last Sunday I was talking to this girl.. and she was saying how she liked New Found Glory... and then later in the conversation she mentioned how she hated Blink... "They think they're punk rock..." blah blah blah...
Then she asked me if I liked the Ataris.... and I straight old asked her.. What's the difference between The Ataris and Blink 182? or NFG for that matter?
------
Now, if you don't like Blink's music... that's cool. But I noticed that people didn't start hating Blink until they started appealing to frat boys and 13 year old girls. Now, all of a sudden their music isn't cool enough for them. It's suddenly cool to hate Blink.
Again, if you don't like Blink because you don't like their music, that's cool.. but I'm tired of people talking crap about them because its the trendy thing to do now.
The funny thing is... People did the same thing to Green Day 8 years ago... But, somehow Green Day reclaimed their cool status.
anyway.. there's my rant.

This sounds kinda cool.
I might drive down to Dallas to see it, but then again I don't know if I feel like hanging out with the moshing kid crowd who go to concerts looking to start fights and crowd surf.
I like the bands okay, and I would like to make it to see Green Day, but dealing with other concert goers can be annoying at certain types of events.

Popularity... or lack of.. does not make one punk or not. Remember, both the Sex Pistols and The Ramones were signed to major labels.

That's an interesting definition of punk. Wow.. here in LA that would invalidate a lot of bands considering that KROQ has been playing tons of punk bands for years including: Ramones, Sex Pistols, Bad Religion, NOFX, and the Dead Kennedy's. And KROQ played Bad Religion back in the early 80's.

But, I wasn't speaking of popularity, more about social standards of correctness. I think I'm addressing not the sound of the music but they philosophy of the punk movement.

Got my tickets for the Tacoma Dome show on 5/1
I don't care what anyone says -- I love all three bands. I really couldn't give two shits about if they're punk or not.

Then again, Less Than Jake opened for Bon Jovi last year, so this one isn't really that much of a stretch compared to previous precendents.

Damn! I wish it would be a four band tour, and just have "Saves the Day" open for the whole tour.
I already got my tix for the San Diego show!
