Terranigma? (SNES)

Soul Blazer was one of my favorite SNES games. Illusion of Gaia was pretty good as well. I was tooling around the web today and discovered there was a third game in the series, Terranigma, that wasn't release in the US! Of course, the PAL version goes for obscene amounts of money on eBay. I guess I'll have to look for a ROM.

Has anyone played this?

I've mucked around with the ROM a little. It was sort of interesting, but didn't really stand out IMO. play control is the same as Illusion of Gaia from what I can remember.

I found it pretty interesting. It's an action-based rpg sort of like Zelda. It was OK.

Yeah soul blazer was a pretty sweet game. I've got Terranigma and its pretty awesome too. It plays more like Soul Blazer than it does Illusions of Gaia (meaning you "release people" by fighting the enemies). There are some new moves in it like running and dashing with a spear. Its a pretty cool game I highly reccomend it. Like most games by enix, the music is excellent!!

Now if they'd only release a sequel to Actraiser

Cool, I think I'll ignore the other two responses and believe this one. Too bad ROMs are such a PITA to get nowadays.

You may want to also try out 'Tales of Phantasia'. Another good SNES rpg that has an english translation available.

I was digging around and I got a file that was supposed to translate the rom or something like that, but despite my best efforts, I've never figured out how to combine the translation and the rom to get it working properly -- even with their explanation.

Cool, I'll check it out. If I remember correctly back when I was doing the ROM thing, the translation wasn't done. I did pick up Seiken Densetsu 3 and play a couple hours of it, though.

Yes, I'm surprised I got it to work, but I finally did as the rom played fine in SNES9X v1.38.
