Top psychedelia from the psychedelic era?

Looking at the years from 1967-1970, what record would you pick as the Best Psychedelic Album?

Off the top of my head, A Gift from a Flower to a Garden by Donovan is first, with Hot, Cold & Custard by Peter & Gordon a close second.

Thanks for reading,
KARNOVAL

No personal preference but....

.... a nice list with many albums from 1967-1970: Best psychedelic albums of all times

A list of top UK/US psychedelic songs arranged chronologically: here

And some sites featuring "interesting" album cover artwork (the last also has reviews): first, second, last

You'd be hard-pressed to get more 'far out' than Captain Beefheart's "Trout Mask Replica."

Guaranteed to clear out any party you spin it in.

I can't come up with one album. Probably because I was a wee lad in the late 60's and didn't hear full albums, I really like singles from that era. The Nuggets collection is awesome. I really dig this style of music very much. Anything that sounds like "96 Tears" "Psychotic Reaction" or "Dirty Water" is A-Okay in my book.

I became a big fan of Paisley Pop or whatever you want to call it.
The wave of pyschedelic bands that came along in the early/mid-80's. Rain Parade was an excellent band. Anyone who likes that 60's stuff should check out "Emergency 3rd Rail Power Trip".
Others from that time period I liked were Dream Syndicate, Plasticland and the Pandoras. The Long Ryders were another great band, but they were a bit more on the country side.

I'll have to second the pick for Nuggets. Top-notch psychedilic garage tunes right there. Although you gotta skip over "Incense and Peppermints" and get right to "I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night". And don't forget the Nuggets set they put out last year, the international version. "Listen to the Sky" is my recommendation from that one. And you can't go wrong with these classics: "Are You Experienced?" and "I am the Walrus".
