Star Wars Rogue Leader - Trench Run Question
Can you blow away Darth Vader? I've tried hitting him with torpedoes and kept nailing him with lasers but to no avail. Is there a strategy/secret or is he just invulnerable? I could've sworn I saw somebody take him out on the display unit @ Toys R Us.

theres no way to blow him up...didnt you see the movie? What you saw was somone hit the breaks and fire on him enough to make him go away. If there was an explosion of any kind it was probably the tie fighters to his left and right that blew up.

No, you can't blow him up. You can increase your accuracy by hitting him with lasers though. You can finally kill Darth at the end of the Endurance level, which takes about 2-3 hours to complete.

I know what you saw at TRU because I did it too, but it's not what you think. At some point, just like in the movie, Han fires at Vader's ship, and knocks it out of the way so the rest of your run is clear. What I did was fire at the two TIEs, hit them causing a big explosion, and at just that moment Han happened to knock out Vader making it look like I blew him up. That's especially tricky at TRU because most of them didn't have sound on the kiosk and you couldn't hear Han hooting and hollering about being all clear.

Strike at the Core is really hard. I got a system for the first part though. I fly above in 3rd person and swoop down when I need to shot the ties. This way I never die, it's easy. However, I don't know if it will work when you try to go for gold.

You don't have to shoot the guns to complete the mission. It seems you don't even need to shoot all the Ties. The Falcon only gets shot down when you let it get too far away from you.
I think you do have to shoot some guns when going for medals.
FYI, you can find hints and strategies at GameSpot on the RSII page. Personally, I resist reading these things but I don't know how anyone is finding the upgrades on their own.
