I'm just curious if anyone else has had these recent problems with preorders from CDNOW. I placed two preorders with them recently. Each one had five or six DVD with various different street dates. They were also ordered at the 30% off preorder price(with an additional 10% off because of a coupon I had- example: a $20.00 DVD for sale at $14.00.) The ordering process went through fine, but when the first item of each order became available and ready to ship, all the other items in the order were cancelled and the prices for the DVD's read at the standard CDNOW price of 10% off so that the $20.00 item that was ordered for $14.00 was now listed as $18.00 in the order status page. This total baffled me and I'm wondering if I'm the only one cursed or if others like me have been similiarly plagued.

For many months I've been ordering tons of stuff from DVD Now, preorders with 15% coupons off the original 30% off, and I have never had a problem.

Actually, I had this happen to me with the last order I placed. One of my DVD's was canceled by the system. Luckily, I went through my email, wondering why I was missing a DVD. JUst spoke with a CDNow rep. They are going to replace the order (for the price I had ordered it at) and send it to me. I will check the order shortly, to make sure that it is not at the new price that is at the website.

I ordered from them dozens of times last year and never had a problem like this. The fact that this occured with two separate orders during a 5 day period really surprised me. Hopefully, these were abnormal occurances and will not not happen again.
