good mexican/hispanic/whatever guitar CDs?
I need to get a CD of this kind of music for somebody within the next day or so. I obviously don't know what genre it fits under, since I can't find a damn CD like this anywhere on amazon (although once I found what I needed I'd buy it at Borders or something). Sorry if the explaination of what I'm looking for is kinda vague, but that's as good as I can describe it.
Can anybody help out?

Did you look under "flamenco" or "mariachi"? You can browse the categories under Latin Music at Amazon. I couldn't tell you what's good though...
edited to add that www.allmusic.com might be helpful too - where you can search for a style

Do a search on album titles, with only the word "guitar" in the search.
Here are some interesting ones I found at Tower Records doing this type of search:
Here is a New Age guitarist named Michel Hedges

song clip:

Or, here is “Timeless Reflections Of The Spanish Guitar”, which is a pre-order (will be released on 1/29):

Here is “Flemenco Guitar” (though it is a $30 CD):

“Guitar for Latin Lovers” (it is not clear if this is a CD of acoustic, or the songs are sung):

“Amor! The fabulous guitar of”
http://www.towerrecords.com/product.asp?pfid=2546101
What Is There To Say: Joe Pass Solo Guitar

If you are looking for just solo Spanish/Flemenco style guitar music then I highly recommend anything by Andres Segovia.
He was just an absolute virtuoso on guitar and the master of Flamenco/Spanish/Classical style playing.
It would probably be under the classical genre.

Actually, while looking around on amazon I saw Gipsy Kings, decided to listen to it, and the first song was a song this guy played for me in mp3 and thought was really cool ('Djobi, Djoba', or whatever it's called). So I got a copy for me and him, since I liked it to.
But I came across Paco de Lucio, a spanish guitar player, and is exactly the kind of music I was looking for. I wouldn't have found him without being pointed in the direction of "flamenco", so thanks again guys.
