Waverace Contest

Nintendo is holding a contest for owners of Waverace: Bluestorm. You can win a new 32" TV and a trip to Nintendo and Nintendo Software Technology Corp. in August. If you've done these kinds of contests for Mario Tennis and the like, you'll be familiar with how it works:

Basically, each month they will release a password and you play the challenge. From there you will be given another password that you enter into their website.

This month's challenge is a time trial on the normal Arctic Bay course. It's called the "Ryota Hayami Challenge" but you can use any character you'd like.

To participate, go to Options from the main screen and press X, Z, and Start at the same time. Select the Password menu when it appears and enter password 3MKJVMXV.

More details can be found here:

Enjoy!

What sort of times you you think will be necessary to actually have a chance at this? The best I've done is 2M 30S 600MS

I can get 2'22"330 and I know I can do better if I stop making these tiny mistakes. I do things that cost me tenths of a second, and eliminating them all could cut down a whole entire second.

I want to win this. Few things could make me as happy as going to NOA HQ. I love Nintendo!

*sigh*

I will never win. This guy at Nintendorks is getting around 2'13.

Use David Mariner and turn his speed all the way up. He has horrible acceleration but the highest top speed. You have to not mess up so that acceleration doesn't matter. And of course you have to hit the gas as soon as the light hits green to get the turbo right away. Avoid ice as much as possible.

Thanks! 2:13 is nuts!
Tight steering or loose steering stetting?

I use tight because his control is pretty tough and I want to make it easy on myself. But I'm told it affects speed so I'll try using loose.

I really wanted to see Nintendo HQ, but it looks like I don't have a prayer...

http://www.waverace.com/leaderboard....sword=3MKJVMXV

A leaderboard is up and we've got ourselves a cheater. He must have hacked the password or something. Totally false time. What an ass. Anyway, the best REAL time (though I guess that could've been hacked too, but by a more clever person with a more believable time) is 2'10. I'm glad I gave up a while ago. I never had a prayer.

I don't think you need to worry about those 2 fake ones, Nintendo will obviously throw them out.
