HELP with Philips DVD 950

HELLLLLLLLLLP!!!

OK so it says Firmware Upgradable. How do I do this? I've read on some UK sites that you download a code and burn it to a CDR and install it that way, and that this can also give you other country codes. Is there any other way to do this? I.E. can I take to a shop and have it done? Also when DVD player say that they are CDR compatible is that specifically meaning that it will read a CDR with music tracks? Or can you burn compressed files on to a disc? that's a lot of songs about 400. Is the Philips DVD 950 supposed to do this? Are there any DVD players that do? I know that there are new IN car CD players that do. THANK YOU

According to Amazon, it doesn't play MP3s:

As far as being firmware upgradeable goes, a couple of reviews at www.audioreview.com mention that you need to contact Philips about that. One person seemed to say it wasn't available, and one person said it was.

Here's the contact info page for Philips consumer electronics.

Good luck.
