Help-Playstation 2 with Playstation games

I just bought Final Fantasy Tactics for Playstation to use in my Playstation 2. But when I go to save on my PS2 memory card the game says it can't detect a card in slot 1 (which it is in, and the card does work with ps2 games). How is one suppose to save playsation games played on a ps2? what can i do??

You have to save them onto a PS1 memory card (which will work with the PS2 for PS1 games)

PS1 cards are about 4 bucks for an off-brand. I think Kmart this week has 3 for 9.99.

You can only save/load PS1 games saves from PS1 memory cards. But you can store the saves on a PS2 memory card. For example, you don't play Gran Turismo 2 much anymore but don't want to delete all that hard work, you can copy it to your PS2 card and leave it there until you want to copy it back and load it.

I didn't know that, that's pretty cool. I still want to check out the sharkport thing where you save games on your computer.
