Jvc Xv-501
I have a JVC XV-501 DVD player.
It is acting strange. I once was told there is a way to 'reset' the machine by pushing a combination of front panel buttons, but i have forgotten what to do.
Can anybody enlighten me?

from the JVC customer support website:
It is possible that your particular disc is bad or that the software title has a problem. There is also a chance that the player may need to be reset. Try the following procedure:
1. Make sure there is no Disc in the tray.
2. Shut off the unit and unplug it from the AC outlet.
3. Press and hold the "On Screen" and "Title" Keys, simultaneously.
4. While holding these keys, plug the AC cord back into the outlet. (TEST JC3 or JC2 will appear on the display)
5. Release these keys and then press the "Enter" key.
6. The "Resume" light will illuminate. (initialization is complete)
7. Press the "Power button" to turn the unit off.
8. Press the "Power button" to turn the unit back on. (your player should be functioning properly now.)
If your DVD player continues to malfunction, we recommend that you have the unit examined by a JVC Factory or Authorized Service Facility.
